Liquidambar Styraciflua Tree
Wonderful medium-large sized tree for a mixture of autumn colours from reds/golds to deepest purples. Will make approx 10-15M in 10 years, or can be kept in a pot to restrict growth. Unusual gnarled bark shows up in winter when leaves have fallen.
Needs acid soil (where rhododendrons grow) or ericaceous compost. Best in full sun.
